Congratulations to our co-founder and president, Jayne Serna, on being named a finalist for the inaugural Women of Wilco County Awards!

This prestigious recognition, conferred in honor of International Women’s Day, honors women across Williamson County who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication to their communities.

In addition to being the co-founder of Leander FC, Jayne has also served her community as a founding member of the Leander Parks and Recreation Board, serving from 2000 to 2018. She has served her community and city as a history teacher in Leander ISD from 1993 to 2019, as an Adjunct Professor of History from 2003 to the present, and as a member of various committees in Leander, including the 2015 Leander Comprehensive Plan Committee, the 2016 Leander Parks Bond Committee, and the Hope Bible Fellowship Worship Team since 2009.

Jayne is also a long-time volunteer leader for the state's preeminent educator organization, the Association of Texas Professional Educators, serving currently as the immediate state past president. Her work and volunteer activities have given her the opportunity to present at national conferences, earn the James Madison Memorial Fellowship, give testimony at the Texas State Capitol to advocate for public education, and write grants and advocate for underserved children in her local soccer league, Leander FC. We are happy that the area chambers of commerce have recognized her leadership, diligence and desire to make her community, state, country and world a better place!
